Commercial disputes are rarely only about money. A frozen shareholder relationship, a supplier who stopped performing, or a partner who took the client list with them — each one affects a business while the litigation runs. The first question is therefore practical: what does resolving this actually require, and what will it cost to get there?

We act in contract and debt claims, shareholder and partnership disputes, construction and supply disagreements, professional negligence claims, and injunction proceedings where something has to be stopped quickly. Files proceed in the Superior Court of Justice, and in the Federal Court where the subject matter belongs there.

Civil litigation in Ontario is document-driven. Pleadings define the fight, the affidavit of documents and discoveries determine what can be proved, and most matters resolve at or after mediation. Building the documentary record properly at the outset is what makes a settlement position credible later.

We give a candid assessment of the merits and the exposure at the start, and we revisit it as the evidence develops rather than at the courthouse door.
