Terms of Use

Please read these terms carefully. They explain what this website is for — and, just as importantly, what it is not.

Last updated: July 27, 2026

1. Acceptance of these terms

This website is operated by Rashidy & Associates LLP ("the firm", "we", "us"), a law firm in Mississauga, Ontario. By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. Information, not legal advice

The content on this website — including practice-area pages, media appearances, case summaries and any articles — is provided for general information only. It is not legal advice and must not be relied on as legal advice. The law changes, every case turns on its own facts, and information that is accurate for one situation may be wrong for another. If you need advice about your situation, speak with a lawyer directly.

3. No lawyer–client relationship

Using this website, reading its content, sending a message through the contact form or emailing the firm does not create a lawyer–client relationship. A lawyer–client relationship with the firm is established only when we have confirmed there is no conflict of interest and both you and the firm have signed a written retainer agreement.

4. Confidential information

Until a retainer is in place, please do not send us confidential or privileged information, or details about your case beyond what is needed for us to identify the matter and check for conflicts. Unsolicited information sent before a retainer is signed is not protected by solicitor-client privilege in the same way, may not be treated as confidential, and does not prevent the firm from acting for another party.

5. Licensing and regulation

The lawyers of the firm are licensed by the Law Society of Ontario and practise in accordance with its Rules of Professional Conduct. Nothing on this website is intended to be misleading, and nothing on it should be read as a comparison with the services of any other lawyer or firm.

6. Past results, media appearances and case summaries

References on this website to past cases, outcomes or media commentary are provided as background about the firm's experience. Past results are not a guarantee, prediction or indication of the outcome of any future matter. Every case is decided on its own facts, evidence and law.

7. Fees and retainers

Any discussion of fees on this website or in an initial conversation is general information only. The fees for your matter, and the terms on which the firm acts, are those set out in your written retainer agreement.

8. Deadlines and limitation periods

Legal claims and appeals are subject to strict deadlines, including limitation periods under the Limitations Act, 2002, appeal periods under the Criminal Code and other statutory notice periods — some of which are very short. Sending a message through this website does not stop any deadline, and the firm is not responsible for any deadline that passes before a retainer is signed. If you believe you have a deadline approaching, contact the firm (or another lawyer) by telephone immediately.

9. Electronic communications

Email and web forms are not fully secure or confidential means of communication and may be delayed, intercepted or lost. The firm does not undertake to respond to any message sent through this website, and you should not treat a message as received until we have confirmed it. Do not use this website to send time-sensitive instructions.

10. Privacy and analytics

Information you submit through the contact form is used to respond to your enquiry and to check for conflicts of interest, and is handled in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This site uses Google Analytics, which sets cookies to help us understand how the site is used; you can block cookies in your browser without affecting your ability to read the site.

11. Intellectual property

The content of this website — text, design and images, other than third-party material identified as such — is the property of the firm and is protected by copyright. You may view, download and print pages for your own personal, non-commercial use. Any other reproduction or republication requires our prior written consent.

12. Links, embedded media and court information

This website links to and embeds third-party content, including news media and video platforms, and publishes practical court information such as the virtual courtroom directory. Third-party sites are outside our control and a link is not an endorsement. Court coordinates — including Zoom links, meeting IDs and passcodes — are published by the courts and can change without notice; always verify your court appearance details with the court, the Crown or your counsel. The firm is not responsible for a missed or failed court appearance arising from reliance on the directory.

13. Limitation of liability

This website is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the firm is not liable for any loss or damage of any kind arising from your use of, or reliance on, this website or its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the Rules of Professional Conduct or applicable law, or affects the duties the firm owes to its retained clients.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The version posted on this page, with its "last updated" date, is the version in force. Your continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These Terms of Use, and any dispute arising out of your use of this website, are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario.

16. Contact

Questions about these terms, or about the firm, can be directed to [email protected] or 905-361-9791, or by mail to our Mississauga office listed on the contact page.
